The Epic of Evolution

Posted by Aether under: Community News .

Just when you thought you had seen it all…

Well, not really. But I am feeling like if I had known about Cathy Russell’s Epic of Evolution website before I had started this site, I probably wouldn’t have felt motivated to do this one, because the compendium of related sites, resources, published materials, and articles is quite comprehensive. WOW. I feel like I have stumbled upon the holy grail of evolutionary story-telling websites. This is it, a veritable treasure trove of eye opening materials presented in an extremely admirable way. I especially appreciate the balanced approach that has been taken with the areas where science and spirituality mingle. I know that this is a realm that can make it or break it with so many people, and leaving it open to personal interpretation is a nice touch of grace.

In addition to all of the available reading material, the collection of quotes itself is stunning. And the resource page, where you will find enough books on related subjects to fill a small library, will easily keep me going for the foreseeable future. When my gal wonders why I haven’t been around lately, I’ll be able to say “It’s all Cathy’s fault!”

Best of all for me, and extremely revealing in it’s own right, is the “About” page, where the overview given is so understanding of the myriad of different perspectives that people often take in regards to the subject matter of evolution. Presenting acceptance in such a way gives me such hope for the future, precisely because it is so grounded in and accommodating of the many differing realities that people often approach evolution from, especially when feeling potentially threatened by it.

I am personally thrilled that such a developed and inviting site is so readily available, and can only hope that it is as inspiring to you as it has been to me.
